Peregrine Field Gear is proud to introduce the NEW Trekker Dog Handler's Vest. We've incorporated our many years of upland hunting experience and the comments and suggestions of numerous other avid hunters and dog handlers to bring you this premium upland hunting vest. We also ran this vest through extensive field testing with numerous hard core hunters to make sure it would stand up to the challenges of upland hunting.

First and foremost, we designed this vest so that those large roosters can actually be loaded from the front quickly and easily! The front opening of the game pouch has a snap expansion that provides a huge 14+" opening for loading big birds.

Second, this vest was designed with the dog handler in mind. The Velcro transmitter pockets on the chest lay flat when empty, but expand to accommodate virtually every make and model of e-collar transmitter. The elastic restrainer loop is easily secured around the antenna of larger remotes to prevent them from falling out when you bend over. The mesh front on the pockets provides easier identification of transmitter buttons and D-rings next to the pockets provide attachment points for lanyards. In addition, two reinforced water bottle holders (with drain holes) means that you can carry enough water for you and your four legged friend.

Third, the "Trekker" upland vest gets its name because in addition to the dual water bottle holders, it also has a rear rucksack for carrying your first aid kit or your lunch, or for stowing those extra layers later in the day when things are warming up.

Fourth, like all shooting apparel that we produce, the Trekker vest has an inside pocket under each shooting pad that accepts the revolutionary ShockEater® recoil pad. So, now you can use those heavy high brass loads and not worry about bruising your shoulder in the process.

And if that's not enough, we also engineered in some other great features including a 2-way brass zipper to better accommodate the Quick-Shot shotgun holster, magnetic pocket flaps, a zippered bottom on the shell pockets (for easy emptying and clean out), hand warmer pockets, internal accessories pockets, expandable rear game pouch and a zippered game pouch.

Finally, as with all products made by Peregrine Outdoor Products, this vest comes with a "no questions asked" Lifetime Guarantee. So enjoy those long hikes through fields, briars, fence rows and thickets knowing that Peregrine has your back. Happy hunting.

Note: Vest chest measurements are intentionally larger than normal to accommodate cold weather clothing.

Too heavy but lots of practical features

Vest is very weighty. Made of durable but heavy materials so with lots of features and multiple layers of fabric the result is a vest that you won’t wear on mild or warm hunting days. Also, size, especially girth, is not adjustable. That limits thickness of layers you can wear under vest.

Last criticism is the nice metal two way zipper on the vest I received is extremely difficult to start. I couldn’t get it to work even after several applications of zipper wax. It finally started after much fidgeting and I considered a return but decided against it. I hope annoying, balky zipper, especially with cold hands or gloves, won’t discourage my use of this otherwise very well constructed and heavy duty upland vest.

Used for the first time and was very pleased with the quality and comfort. Looking forward to many years service due to the durability apparent.

    Nest vest

A few days out from a hunt in Montana so no field info, I am 6" 250 lbs, I ordered the 2X , it fits great, very easy/smooth to mount my gun which is awesome over my previous vest which had straps. Magnetic pockets seem great and east access to your game pouch. The only comment I have is if you purchase the Quick shot shot gun holster it seems a little long but if you centre the holstered and use the bottom zipper to open the bottom of the vest it seems too work great. I am looking forward to testing it out with a 9 day Pheasant hunting trip to one of my favourite places in the world.

Peregrine Field Gear Trekker Dog Handler's Vest

I just received my vest and I am happy with the ordering shipping and packaging. The vest really looks to be of high quality. I ordered it in size XL and it fits great. I can't wait to try it in the field. The material is thick and tough, the vest is a little heavier than my others but there is more to it. I really like how the vest is laid out the pockets are well designed and are made for easy cleaning as is the game bag. I will let you know how I like it after I use it a time or two.

    Great vest!

Here is why this product appealed to me:

1. Easy access to the dog collar transmitters

2. All the great features of a traditional, high-end vest combined with the functionality of sling pack.

Here is why I am thrilled with it:

1. Well thought out product design means that everything is within easy reach. I just returned the Orvis Sling Pack because the placement of the shell pouch and water bottles were so difficult to access.

2. Extremely high quality materials and finish. I have spent more less craftsmanship than was apparent on this product -

3. Tons of additional features that you will really appreciate once you use the vest!

Thanks for developing a truly great product.
